Simple mode and full accounting

A simple mode user picks “supplier payment”, and the system creates a correct double entry from a template. The accountant in full mode sees the same operations as postings. A client who started in simple mode moves to full mode without re-entering history by hand.

Plan Simple mode on all plans, full mode from the “Accounting” plan.

What is inside

  • Simple mode: income, expense, transfer, category, three to five fields
  • Full mode: chart of accounts, postings, registers, editing before posting
  • Simple mode reports on a cash basis, full mode reports on an accrual basis
  • Switch to full mode at any time with no data migration
  • Returning to simple mode limits visibility but deletes nothing
  • Command palette, hotkeys and saved table views for heavy data entry

Limits

Simple mode hides sections that make no sense without a chart of accounts: inventory, production, property, payroll. They open when you switch to full mode.

Frequently asked questions

How is simple mode different from sole proprietor apps?

It keeps real double entry. Cash-based programs store only money movements, and as the company grows the history has to be moved by hand. Here the accountant simply opens full mode.

Can two people work together: the owner in simple mode and the accountant in full mode?

Yes. The mode is chosen per organization, and permissions are set by roles. The owner enters operations, the accountant checks the postings and posts them.
